Adjutant Lieutenant
Lieutenant Richard Janicki

Lieutenant Richard “Rick” Janicki has served the city of Marina for 15 years and is a 20 year law enforcement veteran. He graduated from Salinas High School and has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from California State University Fresno.

During his career he created and supervised the Department Ocean Rescue Team and Citizens Police Academy, has been a defensive tactics and impact-weapons instructor and has taught various classes for the Department.

Currently, he is assigned as the Administrative Lieutenant assigned to the office of the Chief of Police. He oversees the Investigations Bureau, Records Unit, Evidence Unit, Recruitment Team and personnel issues within the Department.

Growing up in the Monterey Bay and Salinas Valley areas he feels it is important to give back to the community that gave him so much.

Rick enjoys running, weightlifting and spending time with his family.
